April 5th 2016(pm), Selen Science & Technology has negotiated with Toppan Printing Co., Ltd. (hereafter called Toppan Pringting) Toyo Seikan Co., Ltd. (hereafter called Toyo Seikan), and T&T Enertechno Co., Ltd.( hereafter called T&T). Selen Science & Technology is going to purchase T&T’s business of production, manufacturing and sales of lithium battery aluminum laminated film packaging materials. According to relevant contents of the agreement, Selen Science & Technology is going to transfer the business of T&T lithium battery aluminum laminated film packaging and divide it to set up a new company with 100% shareholdings. Selen’s takeover includes T&T’s Japan Mie factory which is engaged in lithium battery aluminum laminated film packaging products productions and its related equipments, inventories, raw materials and other assets. Moreover, T&T will authorize Selen Science & Technology to use T&T trademark, its related patents and its proprietary technologies. The acquisition price of this business is 9.5billion Yen (about 550 million RMB).
T&T, a joint venture set up by Toppan Printing and Toyo Seikan, is a famous enterprise in Japan which works on manufacturing and sales of lithium-ion battery aluminum laminated film packaging. For the takeover of Japan T&T lithium battery aluminum laminated film packaging business, Selen Science & Technology can not only base on its complete sales and service networks, T&T’s mature product technologies, catching opportunities of domestic lithium battery production rapid growth to have good achievements rewards, but also it can master production technologies of lithium battery aluminum laminated film packaging products. Setting production line in Changzhou functional materials base, Selen Science & Technology can realize domestic products’ replacements of imported products which is of great importance for the upgrade of national manufacturing industry and cultivation of independent intellectual property rights.
Lithium battery aluminum laminated film is one of the packaging materials. Due to high technological barrier, it is monopolized by Dai Nippon Printing, Showa Denko Group and Toppan Printing with big marketing shares. For this takeover of T&T lithium battery aluminum laminated film packaging business, Selen Science & Technology will become the first domestic integrated provider which produce high-end lithium battery aluminum laminated film packaging products.
